NEW CARGO TRADE BOOST FOR BUCKIE

Buckie harbour was given a massive boost this week after the first ever cargo of lubricating oil arrived from the port of Felixstowe onboard M.V. Scot Explorer.  The cargo is for local oil company Northern Oils and heralds the dawn of a new trade for the port and an exciting new venture for the company.

The lubricants have come from the Persian Gulf and Northern Oils owner and Managing Director David Wood was on hand to explain the significance of this first cargo and the benefits it represents for the local economy "It is well known that some of the purest and highest quality base oils and finished lubricants are to be found in the Gulf region and I set out to bring these outstanding products back to Scotland.  Much of the product will be exported but a considerable proportion will be sold into the UK domestic market.  This will create new jobs locally at our Lintmill facility, at Buckie Harbour and for local hauliers who will be able to reverse the age old trend of product being trucked to Scotland from the south of the UK.”

NORTHERN OILS  ON THE MOVE !

Northern Oils is in the process of relocating to new premises at Lintmill near Cullen.  The move will increase storage capacity dramatically and facilitate the realisation of the company’s growth plans.  The Lintmill facility will serve as a hub and control centre for all Northern Oils depots located at Shetland, Scrabster, Livingston and Birmingham.

Managing Director & Owner Mr Wood said he was delighted to have a suitable new home for Northern Oils and looked forward to developing the site into a state of the art facility which would serve as Northern Oils head quarters.  “The existing warehouse and office facilities are first class and we will further develop and add to them in the near future."

New logo for GoldlineSlick Production for Oil Company

Creating a new impression for a national company is no minor task. When Gavin from specialist design company, Section18, based in Edinburgh was asked to brand the consumer facing side of lubricant specialists Northern Oils, he knew he’d be changing a locally headquartered company that’s familiar around his hometown, into one that has a presence all across the UK.

Gavin is originally from Buckie where Northern Oils headquarters are..

The team at Northern Oils are delighted with their new “Goldline” range branding. For the first time, their five depots, from Shetland to Birmingham, and their thirty-strong fleet will show off the company’s own branding, and become a more familiar sight, up and down the UK. “With the Goldline range, we now offer over a thousand products, for everything from marine maintenance to heavy engineering,” says Northern Oils managing director David Wood. “The company is growing, and we recognised the importance of more prominently promoting our own products. We wanted to reflect that growth with new, unified, branding. I’m delighted with Gavin’s interpretation, and I’m delighted we were able to find the creative talent locally”.
